Abstract

329,258. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Oct. 16, 1928, [Convention date]. Paper, treating with special materials; paper for writing upon electrolytically.-Paper, textile fabrics, or the like capable of being marked by electro-deposition are prepared by impregnating them with an acid solution which has been used as a photographic fixing bath, and then drying in hot air. By the action of an electric current on the material so treated a visible precipitate of silver sulphide is produced. The acid solution may be first treated in known manner with excess of finely divided non-precious metal such as lead, which replaces the silver. In this case the silver is recovered and lead sulphide is precipitated by the electro-deposition.
