316,968. Schlesische Spiegelglas- Manufactur C. Tielsch Ges. Aug. 7, 1928, [Conventicn date]. Rolling.-A process for making wire glass of the kind in which the reinforcing wires are parallel with one another consists in forming two sheets of glass by means of a duplex doubleroll machine, rolling the two sheets together to form a single sheet, and feeding the wires between the two sheets just before they are united. The two sheets w, w<1> are formed from masses o, o<1> of molten glass by means of rollers r, s and r<1>, s<1>, respectively. The sheets w, w<1>, as they emerge from between the rollers, pass over tables q into the pass between rollers t which press the sheets together to form a single sheet z. The wires b are wound on reels a and are fed downwards by a grooved roller c. Spring-actuated rollers f hold the wires in the grooves d of the feed roller. The wires then pass downwards through tubes h, i, k and are cut off, when necessary, by shears m. The wires issue from the tubes k and pass between the rollers t and are thus embedded in the finished sheet z. The tubes guide the wires and ensure that they enter the glass parallel with one another. The tubes k telescope on the tubes i and can be adjusted to direct the wires correctly between the two sheets,
