Abstract
316,381. Baumann, K., and Associated Electrical Industries, Ltd. June 11, 1928. Condensation w a t e r, collecting and draining; blades.-Relates to turbines in which the blades are formed as described in Specification 27272/03, with internal passages 27 which are open to the concave surfaces of the blades so that condensation water passes into them. As shown in Fig. 2, the drainage passages 3<1> in the upper portion of the stationary blade ring communicate with a duct 4 in the inner blade ring whereas the passages in the lower portion communicate with a duct 5 in the outer blade ring. The ducts 4, 5 are connected by passages in blades in the regions 13, and the water drains by gravity to, an outlet 6 from which it is led to a feed water heater or other apparatus. Several ways of forming the ducts 4, 5 are described. In Fig. 6, the drainage duct 17 is formed between two stationary guide rings, and the water thrown out of the passages in the running blades is thrown into it through a slot 22. A renewable corrosion preventing ring 23 may be fitted. The blades may be formed of separate parts as shown in Fig. 9, or may be formed of sheet metal bent to shape.
