Abstract
316,253. Kohorn, Oscar, Freiherr von, (trading as Kohorn & Co., 0.), and Perl, A. July 26, 1928, [Convention date]. Thread - guides. - In the manufacture of artifical silk, the channel in which the filaments are acidified and by which they are guided on to the collecting device is not given the usual rectilinear reciprocating motion but is arranged to oscillate in a substantially horizontal plane about a point substantially coincident with that at which the filaments enter the channel. As shown, the filaments produced by stretch-spinning in a funnel 1 are passed over a guide 3 into a channel 4 having pins or trunnions 5, 7; the pin 5 is mounted on a fixed part of the machine and the pin 7 is inserted in a reciprocating bar 8. The channel is preferably provided with cross-ribs to support the filaments. The filaments leaving the channel are wound crosswise on a reel 10.
