Abstract

474,173. Knitting-machines. SEIM, K. F. Aug. 12, 1936, No. 22200. Convention date, Aug. 12, 1935. [Class 74 (ii)] [Also in Group IX] A knitting-machine for forming a looped textile thread comprises a supply reel 1 from which thread passes to an eye 4 and the eye 5 of an oscillating thread guide 6 actuated from a cam 13 on the driving shaft 17 ; the thread passes from the guide 6 to a reciprocating looping needle 9 actuated by a cam 16 on the shaft 17 and guided in a slot 20 of a block 21 provided at the front with a recess 19 and, below the slot 20, with a stripper member 22 formed with an angled part in which the loop formed in the thread is positioned while the needle is withdrawn. The loops as they are formed are pushed off the needle over a slip-off member 23 and through an eye 36 on an oscillating lever 38 to a take-up bobbin 26 which is supported on a pivot 28 and loaded by an adjustable weight 29 to tension the thread 1; the bobbin 26 is driven by a belt 27 from the shaft 17.
