Abstract

315,693. Allmõnna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget. July 16, 1928, [Convention date]. Induction furnaces.-The straight portions of the substantially rectangular coil 1, the magnetic circuit of which is only partially closed through iron, are embraced by an iron shell 2 having crosswise laminations, and packets of sheet iron 4 having longitudinal laminations are arranged adjacent the rounded ends of the coil. In Figs. 4 and 6 the longitudinal laminations form a shell 5 embracing the ends of the coil and in contact with the 'shell 2 in a plane parallel to the plane of the coil. In a modification thereof, Fig. 7, parts of the shell 5 are arranged in slots in the shell 2 in contact with the underside of the coil.
