Abstract

315,463. Schultz, J. April 13, 1928. Inking-apparatus. -Means for cleaning the inking-apparatus of a printing-press comprises a normally stationary wiper of rubber in combination with a trough to receive the removed ink. In one form, Fig. 1, the wiper consists of strips of rubber 1 clamped to a carrier 2 rockable on pins 3 carried by a bracket 4 which is mounted on bars 5, 6 and is finely adjustable by screws 7, 8. Pressure is applied to the carrier 2 by a bar 9 adjustably clamped to the bar 5. The trough 11 is supported on the bar 6 and a cross-bar 12. In a modification, the pressure is applied to the carrier 2 bv a bar forming one member of a screw shackle whereby the pressure can be finely adjusted.
