Abstract
623,937. Stencilling-apparatus. KINGS, A. T. June 2, 1947, No. 14589. [Class 100 (ii)] A stencil duplicating apparatus in which the stencil 20 is mounted over an ink-pad 18 adapted to be run over the surface to be printed, is constructed of a wooden roller 13 fitted with a metal cylinder 15 having edges 16 spaced apart to provide a gap 17 to which are secured by tacks an ink pad 18 covered by a layer of fabric: The stencil 20 is secured over the ink pad by means of pins 21 engaging perforations in one end of the stencil, and by a clamping bar 22 held in position by screws 23. The U-shaped frame 10 in which the roller 13 is mounted is fitted with a handle 11, and to the frame is secured a coiled spring 24 connected by a link to a pin 27 on the roller, which is normally maintained against the left-hand side of the frame 10. To print, the roller is moved from the position shown over the paper until the pin 27 engages the other side of the frame 10, and the spring 24 returns the roller to normal position when it is raised from the paper. A protecting cage 28 is fitted over the spring 24.
