Abstract

315,455. Yeomans, G. B. April 13, 1028. Fuselages.-An aeroplane or flying-boat has a fuselage of dolphin or porpoise shape with a raised tail and fitted with watertight hatches, windows and glands for the control connections so as to be completely enclosed in a watertight manner should a forced descent on water take place. The fuselage is fitted with two bilge keels 14 to prevent rolling. The machine may be fitted with a hinged flap or flaps movable by the pilot to act as a brake when the machine is afloat. The wings may be compartmented for use as fuel tanks as described in Specification 315,478.
