Discharging devices for endless-belt conveyers. -Apparatus for conveying sweetmeats comprises a band arranged to overhang a portion of itself so that the goods may be deposited from the over hanging portion on to the lower portion, both portions moving in the same direction, and is characterized by the provision of means for grouping the goods in closer assemblage during their movement towards the point at which they are deposited on to the lower part of the conveyer. As shown in Fig. 1, an endless band 2 which is driven and supported by an auxiliary canvas band 3 is trained back in re-entrant form over rollers 14, 15 to form a bight which is accessible through an opening 16 through which cardboard sheets, to receive the goods, are inserted. Convergent rows of rollers 12, preferably felt or sponge covered, engage the goods as thev move towards the roller 14 and assemble them closer. The cardboard sheets are guided by a longitudinal guide, and travel up an inclined portion 19 of the conveyer. In order to prevent the goods from overturning whilst being deposited, a rod 20 extends across the gap and breaks the fall. The card, with the goods thereon, then passes to a receiving table 21.
