Abstract

314,619. Radford, A. P. April 19, 1928. Stands.-A stand for displaying gramophone disc records &c. consists of a number of crossarms 8 carried by a pivot pin 10 slidably arranged in a slot 7 in a trough shaped front strut 1 supported by a pair of rear struts 3 which are housed with the trough of the strut 1 when the stand is collapsed. The struts 3 are cranked near their upper ends and are arranged on a pivot pin 4, spanning the trough of the strut 1, with a spring 6 between them. The arms 8 are provided with studs 9 to receive the records, notches 12 being provided in some of the arms so that the arms can be folded in substantial alignment. In the construction shown a pair of cross arms 8 are shown, the outer one being displaced forwardly at its centre 13 to receive the inner one so that the arms are disposed on the same plane. The slot 7 may be replaced by a series of perforations. The side walls of the strut 1 may be cut and bent, suitably indented or laterally contracted to form stops to prevent the struts 3, when in use, falling back within the strut 1.
