Fireguards; supports for articles to be heated. -A combined fireguard and toasting device comprises, in the form shown in Fig. 1, a frame 1, 2, 3 adapted to be suspended, for example by arms 8, from a convenient part of the grate, and wholly or partially covered with wire netting, together with a front frame 5 between which and the guard the toast is supported the whole being foldable or collapsible. In the construction shown a tray 4 is hinged to the lower edges of the guard and front frame 5. the latter being retained in position of use by arms 6 hinged to the front frame uprights 2 and secured to the frame 5 by removable pins 7. On withdrawing the pins, the frame 5 and tray 4 can be folded flat against the front of the guard. The supporting arms 8 and lower strut members 9 are hinged to the uprights 2 and may be folded. The front frame 5 may be covered with wire netting. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the guard is provided with side frames 16 hinged to the uprights 17, the latter being secured to the horizontal members 10, 11 by pins 18, 19. In collapsing the device, the pins are withdrawn and the side frames 1.6 removed. The device may be extended to fit wider grates by partially withdrawing the pins 18, 19, and 23 and turning the side frames inwardly to lie substantially in the plane of the guard and form side extensions of it. An ornamental top member 24 is hinged to the top of the guard.
