Abstract
313,786. Hole, J. H., and Bryant, W. R. July 18, 1928. Piston valves.-A tap particularly adapted for dispensing oils and valuable liquids comprises a ported sleeve 11 slidably mounted on a tube 1 adapted to be connected to a container and provided at its closed end 12 with a washer 13 adapted to be pressed, by a spring 10 arranged concentrically about the tube 1, against a seat formed on a collar 6 secured to the tube 1. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the valve is actuated by a pair of levers 16 pivoted to a common bracket 17 and coupled together by a handle 19. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the levers are L- shaped and the handle is adapted to be moved towards a thumb-rest 26. A modification is described in which the spring is arranged externally.
