Abstract

313,095. Soc. of Chemical Industry in Basle. Julv 26, 1927, [Convention date]. Divided on 294,583. Azo dyes are made by coupling an o-oxydiazo compound with a pyrazolone carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester, can be produced by the condensation of an oxaloacetic acid ester with hydrazine. The products may be after-chromed on the fibre or converted into dyestuffs containing metal. In examples. (1) 4-chlor-2-aminophenol- 5- or 6-sulphonic acid, 4-nitro-2-aminophenol-6- sulphonic acid or 6-nitro-2-aminophenol-4-sulphonic acid are diazotized and coupled with 5- pyrazolone-3-carboxylic acid. 1-Diazo-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulphonic acid and its nitrated derivatives are also specified as first components; the products yield violet tints in chrome printing on cotton. The copper compounds of the above dyestuffs dye wool yellow-brown to red-brown, and the chromium compounds yellowto blue-red.
