Tripod mounts for machine guns.- A machine gun h, adapted for allround fire with elevation from about 15‹ depression to 90‹ elevation, is mounted on upwardly and rearwardly positioned trunnions f on a carriage e which can be traversed and levelled on the head a of the tripod mount, the legs b, b<1> of which can be extended to alter the firing height. The gun is mounted for ready removal in a cradle g, having an elevating arc g<1> engaged by a worm-driven pinion e<3>. The traversing plate c is spherically jointed to the tripod head, and is locked by a bolt d<1>. Adjustable stops c<2> are provided to limit sweeping fire.
