Machine guns.-The grips b<1>, Figs. 1 and 3, for training and elevating the gun are mounted on the gun casing a so as to swing about pivot pins b<3> arranged parallel to the gun trunnions. Further, a frigger c<1> is mounted on each grip and connected by means, such as links c<4>, d, to the trigger-bar d<1> so that the gun can be readily fired in all angular positions of the grips. Catches e, controlled by a central thumb-piece, serve to lock the grips in one or more positions if desired. In a modification, Fig. 7, grips b<1>, b<2> are rotatable on the axles a<4> disposed parallel to the gun trunnions. The trigger c<1> for firing single shots and the trigger c<2> for continuous fire serve to move a bar c furnished with an inclined surface c<5> for operating the trigger lever d. The mounting shown in Fig. 1 comprises a wheeled frame U resting on the ground and carrying a hinged gun support Z which can be set to positions for high and low angle fire, respectively.
