In the embodiment illustrated in Figures 6 to 8 the breech end a carries two lateral hollow extensions a extending in parallel to the axis of the horizontal trunnions on which extensions the two pointing handles 6 12 are arranged rotatably and are secured against being jVltllCllflWIl from the extensions in any suitable manner. A trigger c respectively, is pivoted on each of the handles b in such a manner that it can be reached by the fingers of the operators hand grasping the respective handle. Out of the triggers thatdenoted by 0 is intended for single fire While 0 serves to cause continuous fire. As shown in Figure 7, the triggers c '0 project with suitable noses into the bores of the extensions 0a which noses abut on a trigger rod 0 shiftably mounted in the extensions and acted upon by a spring. This rod by means of an inclined surface 0 Figure 6 acts upon a lever cl and by the latter on the locking mechanism of the hammer (not shown).
When the gun is held by the hands and is swung about its horizontal trunnions relatively to the mounting by grasping the handles 6 b the latter turn about the extensions an. The triggers c 0 take part in this turning motion and are maintained in their position relatively to the handles without losing their connection with the other members of the firing mechanism or displacing them. The close grasping of the handles 6 6 required for holding and pointing the arm therefore neither needs be changed in giving even comparatively great elevations nor need be loosened in laying a finger on' one of the two triggers c 0 hat I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. A fire arm comprising a mounting and a gun supported by it and adapted to be swung by hand about its pointing axes relatively to the mounting, and at least one pointing handle on said gun, said handle being adapted to be turned relatively to the gun at least about an axis parallel to the elevating axis of the gun.
2. A fire arm comprising a mounting and a gun supported by it and adapted to be swung by hand about its pointing axes relatively to the mounting, at least one pointing handle on said gun adapted to be turned relatively to the gun at least about an axis parallel to the elevating axis of the gun, a trigger mechanism to be operated by the hand manipulating said handle, the trigger of said mechanism being adapted to be turned relatively to the gun about an axis analogous to that of said handle, and means interconnecting said handle and trigger and causing the latter to follow the pointing motions of said handle.
3. A firearm comprising a mounting and a gun supported by it and adapted to be swung by hand about its pointing axes relatively to the mounting, at least one pointing handle on said gun adapted to be turned relatively to the gun at least about an axis paral- "lel to the elevating axis of the gun, and means for temporarily rigidly connecting said handle to said gun at least in one of their mutual positions.
4. A fire arm comprising a mounting and a gun supported by it and adapted to be swung by hand about its pointing axes relatively to the mounting, at least one pointing handle on said gun adapted to beturned relatively to the gun at least about an axis parallel to the elevating axis of the gun, a trigger mechanism to be operated by the hand manipulating said handle, the trigger of said mechanism being adapted to be turned relatively to the gun about an axis analogous to that of said handle, means interconnecting said handle and trigger and causing the latter to follow the pointing motions of said handle, and means for temporarily rigidly connecting said handle to said gun at least in one or their mutual positions.
5. A fire arm comprising a mounting and a gun supported by it and adapted to be swung by hand about its pointing axes rela-' tively to the mounting, at least one pointing handle on said gun adapted to be turned relatively to the gun at least about an axis parallel to the elevating axis or" the gun, a trigger mechanism to be operated by the hand manipulating said handle, the trigger of said mechanism being adapted to be turned relatively to the gun about an axis analogous to that of said handle, means interconnecting said handle and trigger and causing said trigger to follow the pointing motions of said handle, and means for temporarily rigidly connecting said handle to said gun at least in one of their mutual positions, said lastnamed means comprising a manipulative member arranged in the range of the hand operating said handle.
6. A fire arm comprising a mounting and a gun supported by it and adaptedto be swung by hand about its pointing axes relatively to the mounting, at least one pointing handle on said gun adapted to be turned relatively tothe latter at least about an axis parallel to the elevating axis of the gun, a trigger mechanism on said gun adapted to be operated by the hand manipulating said handle and comprising at least one trigger, at least one journal on the gun, said handle being rotatably mounted on said journal and said trigger being rotatably mounted on said handle.
