Abstract

312,490. Douglas Motors, Ltd., and Dixon, F. W. May 21, 1928. Motor-cycles; motors, mountings.-In a motorcycle frame of the type comprising a pair of spaced lower horizontal members 2, 3 adapted to support the engine and connected at their ends to the head lug 4 and saddle lug 5 by upwardlyextending members, the spaced members 2, 3 are of angle section so as to provide ledges on which the engine can rest and be readily located. As shown, the members 2, 3 are of L-section with the horizontal flanges directed inwardly, and have circular ends 8 to engage the sockets 9 of the frame lugs. The engine is secured by bolts passing through the horizontal flanges, and to the underside of the latter may be secured a sump, the retaining-bolts of which may serve also for fixing the engine.
