Chain guards for motor-cycles comprise a casing 2 hinged at 7 to a vertical frame member 5 or other part, so that it can be swung over to enclose the sprocket-wheel 4 and part of the driving-chain 3, or swung outwards as shown to facilitate access to the sprocket-wheel and adjacent parts. The guard is locked in its closed position by means of a wing-nut 8 on a stud adapted to enter fixed jaws 9.
