Abstract

Pegulating compression.-A valve H and valve seat F are provided in the inner wall of a compressor head and valve lifter Y by which the valve can be held permanently open, slides on a projection P on the seat ; a flat spring S is interposed between the outer wall and the projection P to maintain the valve and lifter in assembled position. The lifter is operated by a diaphragm g subject to fluid pressure e.g. from the receiver, through a sliding sleeve p acting on lugs d on the sleeve b of the lifter: these lugs slide on the sides of the spring S and prevent rotation. A pin e holds the sleeve b in place during assemblage.
