Abstract
520,190. Compressor relief valves. BRISTOL PNEUMATIC TOOLS, Ltd., SLADE, L. W., and MILLIER, R. Oct. 12, 1938, No. 29611. [Class 8(i)] An air compressor supplies a container fitted with an inlet check valve, e.g., a tyre, through a chamber 4 having an atmospheric relief valve 11 which is closed during normal operation but is opened by the adjustment of the driving-motor switch handle on its stem when the switch is moved to stop the motor ; the compressor is thus relieved of load at starting. A pressure gauge may be provided between the check valve and the container, and its correct reading may be facilitated by opening the release valve manually.
