Closures completed by outstanding packing-rings.-A stopper for a hot-water bottle, water bed, &c. comprises a head a secured to a stem c around which are disposed a rubber ring e and a lower metal &c. washer f; the lower portion d is squared to receive a screwthreaded member g adapted to engage with the lower threaded portion j of a socket i formed with a shoulder l at the top of the thread. When the stopper is screwed down, the metal washer f engages the shoulder l causing the rubber ring c to bulge outwards and make a tight joint with the socket. To secure the threaded member g to the stem, the end h of the stem is riveted over it.
