Abstract
310,573. Dee, C. E. Feb. 2, 1928. Bedsteads convertible into seats.- A convertible seat. berth device comprises fixed upright and horizontal frame members b<1>, b, adapted for supporting respectively the seat-back e and seat a in their normal position, the seatbach being hinged to the seat and adapted to be swung down on to the latter to provide a bed. The hinge f is arranged at a short distance above the lower end of the back e and the seat a can be retracted when the back is being swung down. The lower end of the back is shaped to fit into the angle between the frame members b, b<1>, and stop means c, d, d<1> may be provided for holding the seat in its normal and/or retracted position. An upper berth g may be provided.
