310,294. Johnson, J. Y., (Amiesite Asphalt Co. of America). Oct. 14, 1927. Right to Patent relinquished. Macadamized roads are formed by first laying and compacting a void-containing first course of bitumen-coated stone, then laying and compacting a similar second course of bitumen-coated stone graded to a smaller size, and finally sealing and waterproofing the compacted mass by a top course of sand or stone screenings laid between and around the stones at the upper surface of the second course without overlaying the exposed stone surface. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 275,280, 276,538 and 276,866.
