Static contact rectifiers, arrangements of.- Rectifiers of the type described in Specification 257,305, [Class 37, Electricity, Measuring &c.], are made in a form suitable for rectifying weak currents by reducing the area of the oxide coating on the copper disc so as to obtain the necessary high resistance. Fig. 5 shows a rectifier comprising a copper disc 10 having two small areas 11<a> clamped between plates 15, 19 on a bolt 13. The areas 11a are connected through lead washers 12 to terminal plates 17, 17<a> connected to the ends of the secondary winding of a supply transformer T, the load L being connected between the midpoint of the secondary winding and a terminal plate 16 in contact with the copper disc 10.
