Abstract

308,631. Dehn. F. B., (Ransome Concrete Machinery Co.). Nov. 24, 1927. Direct air-pressure apparatus, non-automatic. - Apparatus for discharging concrete and the like has a mechanical conveyer acting in conjunction with pressure fluid and the pressure fluid acts on the concrete, before, during and after its passage past the conveyer. The concrete is fed to the chamber 1 through an opening 4 which can be sealed by a flap 6 operated by lever gear 10, 11. The chamber is provided with a discharge opening 23 to which leads a mechanical conveyer 20 operated by means of a motor 30. An air pressure tube 25 leads into one end of the discharge opening 23 and a discharge tube 26 at the opposite end. After the material is supplied to the chamber the flap is closed and the air pressure turned on; the conveyer is then operated so that the material is worked towards the discharge opening 23 whence it is blown through the discharge pipe; the pressure in the chamber 1 being greater at each discharge than the pressure in the tube 25 prevents the material being blown back into the chamber. A supplementary air pressure supply 15 may be fixed to the top portion of the chamber.
