Abstract

308,574. Speier, M. March 24, 1928, [Convention date]. Hand stamps.-The printing-surface of a handstamp comprises adjustable types 6 for printing the date and changeable types 11 for printing special characters such as the secret signs used in sales offices for marking receipts &c. As shown, the types 6 are formed on endless bands 5 passing over a bar 4 and held by a pivoted cover plate 7, and the types 11 are inserted from the rear in a plate 10, and are held in position by means of a pivoted plate 13. The plate 10 swings about a pivot 9 to bring the types 11 alongside the types 6, and is locked in that position by inserting a key 17 into a lock barrel 16 and turning a catch 18 into engagement with a lug 15 on the end of an arm 14 integral with the plate 10. An extension 20 of the plate 10 assists in positioning the stamp to align the printed matter. The cover plate 7 may be com bined with the plate 10.
