Abstract

[Class 106 (i).] Statistical cards.-In an address-printing plate or stencil having numeral-printing characters, and corresponding perforations for controlling a calculating or like machine, the perforations are contiguous to the numeralprinting characters and are preferably formed of conical shape so as to facilitate entrance of the selecting-members of the calculating- machine, and permit obliteration of erroneous perforations by flattening the cones. The metal printing-plate shown in Fig. 1 is formed on the part a .. b with text-printing characters, and on the part b .. c with numeral-printing characters, representing for instance insurance data, and corresponding code-perforations 19. The flanges 12 of the printing-plate are formed with notches 13 .. 17 for controlling operation of the addressing-machine. The printing- characters and perforations may be formed on one or more cards inserted in a metal holder. In the device shown in Fig. 6, a card or stencil 1a formed with characters for the text and numerals is gummed between two sheets of cardboard 1b formed with the code perforations. In another device, a metal stencil formed with characters for the text and numerals has an opening for securing a detachable card formed with the code perforations.
