Abstract
307,728. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Dec. 12, 1927, Samples furnished. Dithiocarbamates.-By the interaction of car. bon bisulphide and a secondary alicyclic amine, salts of the amine with the corresponding tertiary alicyclic dithiocarbamic acid are obtained. If another organic or inorganic base is also added, salts therewith of the dithiocarbamic acid derived from the secondary alicyclic amine result. These or the above salts may be submitted to double decomposition with other salts of metals, ammonia, or amines in general, including quaternary ammonium salts. In examples, (1) carbon bisulphide is condensed with two molecular parts of hexahydroethylaniline; hexahydromethy]&mline, hexahydromethyl o- and p. toluidines, hexahydroethyl-o and p-toluidines, and decahydroethyl-/3-naphthylamme may also be used; (3) carbon bisulphide is condensed with one molecular part of hexahydroethylaniline and one molecular part of hexahydroaniline; the hexahydroaniline salt of ethylhexahydrophenyldithiocarbamic acid is produced; (3) carbon bisulphide is condensed with one molecular part. of hexahydroethyl-o-toluidine or hexahydroethylaniline and one molecular part of caustic soda, or with hexahydromethylaniline and caustic potash, giving the alkali salts of the corresponding dithiocarbamic acids; (4) the sodium salt of ethylhexahydrophenyldithiocarbamic acid is submitted to double .decomposition with barium chloride: the resulting barium salt may be further submitted to double decomposition with magnesium sulphate, hexahydroaniline, dicyclohexylamine, diphenylguanidine, ethylenediamine, or ethanolamine; (5) the sodium salt of ethylhexahydro-otolvldithiocarbamic acid is submitted to double decomposition with zinc chloride. Specification 300,285 is referred to. Decahydroethyl-#-naphthylamine is prepared by introducing the ethyl group into decabydro.#- naphthylamine by the usual methods.
