Brackets.-In a stand for supporting an electric lamp or heating element in which the base comprises a pillar a carrying a slidable and rotatable spring-pressed clamping member g cooperating with a fixed clamping member b for attaching the stand to an article of furniture or other object, the member g is formed with a tubular extension g<1> and a cap g<2> for enclosing the spring h. The upper end of the spring bears on a disc i engaging a pin k on the pillar a. A rod or the like may project from the member b through a slot in the flat peripheral portion of the member g to facilitate manipulation. The member g may have recesses for engaging a tube. The reflector f is connected by a pivoted rod d to the pillar a. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a construction in which the rod d is pivoted to a separate pillar carried by the member g and states that recesses may be provided also in the member b. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
