Abstract

306,717. Johnson, H. March 7, 1928. Gaiters.-Relates to gaiters, spats, high-legged boots and the like of the type described in Specification 291,951, which are made to open along the inside of the leg, and consists in the provision of a readily-releasable fastening. As shown applied to a gaiter in Fig. 1, and to a high-legged boot in Fig. 2, a flat strip 3 of metal or other suitable material is applied to one side of the opening and sockets 5 to the other. If desirable, a stiffening strip 6 may also be applied to the socket side. A strap 10 and buckle may be used for preventing the flap gaping. In the case of a gaiter, the conventional appearance of opening on the outside thereof may be obtained by a row of buttons with or without real or imitation buttonholes. The high-legged boot may be provided with lacing 18.
