Uppers; fastening.-The front opening of a laced boot is covered by a flap d, which is sewn at e and along one of its edges to the upper and has its other edge furnished with one or more integral straps f to engage buckles g. The flap is furnished with two eyeleted holes i, which are adapted to register with the upper eyelets of the front opening, so that the lace may be passed through them before being tied. The shoe upper a is preferably cut in a single piece, Fig. 6, with the addition of an insertion c to complete the side of the leg.
