Abstract

531,776. Boots etc.; sliding clasp fasteners. CARSON, A. H. C., and HIGGINS, E. P. Aug. 1, 1939, No. 22304. [Class 17 (ii)] [Also in Group XXV] In addition to the usual front opening 3, 4, Fig. 3, closed by a lace 6, a shoe is provided with two other openings 8 closable by sliding clasp fasteners 9, the runners 10 of which are connected by swivel hooks 17 to a common operating member 11. This member may comprise a casing housing two spring-controlled plungers 16, as shown in Fig 4, or two overlapping slidable rods 23, 24, Fig. 6, or a single rod connected to the swivel hooks by short lengths of chain. The invention is also applicable to top boots.
