Abstract

Reels or bobbins.-In the treatment of unretted flax yarn or rove with liquor without rewinding, an open reel is used which may consist of longitudinal wires A bent over at the ends and fixed to wire rings B to form heads. A suitable support for such a bobbin is shown in Fig. 4. The bobbin may comprise a longitudinally grooved or corrugated barrel E, Fig. 5, fitted to annular heads F having apertures f opening into the corrugations to allow the free flow of liquor.
