Abstract
306,184. Lacey, J., and Kingston, E. G. Nov. 17, 1927. Steps.-In vehicles of the type having a folding step, a permanent step disposed between the folding step and the floor and a door so arranged as to leave a gap between the door when closed and the floor there are a movable floor-extension member adapted, when the door is closed, to close the said gap, a door-actuated movable member adapted automatically to move the floorextension member into position to close the gap and means for removing the floor-extension member from said position when the door is opened. Preferably also the folding step is automatically operated by the movement of the door. The movable member 17 in the path of the door operates the step 13 through levers 18, 20, 22 and links 19, 23 as shown, the step being adapted to return to operative position by gravity on the door being opened. To close the gap 30 between the door and the edge of the floor 10 when a permanent step 15 is provided, a pivoted floorextension member 30 is provided and operated by a link 31 and an arm 32 of the lever 20, 22.
