Microphones. - The diaphragm 1 of an undamped microphone is provided with a nipple 2 projecting into the carbon powder 3 through a hole in a cover plate 9 for the case 4 containing the powder. The electrode 6 is mounted within the case 4 and is provided with a projecting ring. A small felt ring 10 is arranged between the plate 9 and diaphragm and the case 4 is lined with an insulating substance 11, such as mica.
