Combined buffer and draw-gear.-The wedging surtaces of a friction draught gear for railwayvehicle couplings are lubricated by preformed elements 2 of graphite around which the surfaces pads 5 are cast. The elements 2 may extend completely or partially through the pad, and project slightdy from the surface thereof, so as to be squeezed between the friction surfaces.
