Abstract

301,967. Debenhams, Ltd., and Zilva, G. Sept. 13, 1927. Corsets ;brassiÞres.-The brassiÞre portion c of a combined brassiÚre and corset is undivided at the front, and is shaped by darts to support the breasts. The corset portion c is open at the front and provided with busks b with suitable fastening means, and both brassiÞre and corset are laced at the back. The upper ends of bones d and of the busks b extend upwards in substantially inverted V-formation between and under the breasts, and the lower ends of the bones may be arranged in curved or V-formation. The meeting edges of the corset portion below the busks b may be fastened by elastic straps h and buttons i, and elastic gussets may be provided in the sides of the garment. In an alternative construction, the front of the brassiÞre portion is curved upwards towards the armpits, and the brassiÚre at or near the middle is attached by press-button or other fastenings to the top of the corset portion. Knickers or a slip or the like may be combined with the garment.
