Inductances. - Aerial tuning and like coupling coils for wireless signalling are wound on a former A, Figs. 1 and 3, with contact blades engaging spring contacts on a base G, the base having a control boss or annulus G' entering the bore of the former A and the former carrying a radial screw A' or other projection entering a slot G<2> in the boss G to prevent incorrect engagement of the contacts even when the coil is inserted in darkness. An ebonite former A with integral, radially-projecting ribs B for the winding may carry six contact plates D on the flats C between the ribs B, the plates D engaging upstanding spring contacts H on the base G. Correct insertion of the former is also facilitated by correspondingly numbering the plates D and contacts H and by datum marks such as white spots placed in corresponding positions on the former A and base G.
