Abstract
300,622. Dreger, K. von, and Horn, A. F. Nov. 18, 1927, [Convention date]. Armatures and field magnets.-Consists in driving a gramophone or the like, more particularly a portable gramophone, by means of a small electromotor of low power constructed to give a small field and braked by a governor associated directly with the motor shaft, the windings being of unusually large cross-section to minimise the heating effect at the slow speed of running. The object is to provide a motor which is substantially lighter and smaller than those, usually employed for gramophones. Fig. 1 shows diagrammatically a motor constructed according to the invention, a being the armature and b the field magnet. The motor shaft c drives through worm gearing a centrifugal governor of the usual kind.
