Abstract

Machines with two armatures; motors, controlling.-An electric motor for driving talking- machines consists of two axially spaced rotors f, Fig. 2, which are connected in parallel to a commutator o and accommodate between them a speed governor h, the governor springs i being arranged in spaces in the pole gaps. The two corresponding field magnets (not shown) may be displaced a few degrees relatively to each other to secure a more uniform drive. The motor may be run on different supply voltages by the use of a switch mounted on the casing a, Fig. 4, and connected to a series resistance or to tapped stator windings. The springs i are secured at one end to a sleeve l keyed on the shaft e, and at the other end to an axially sliding sleeve n carrying a brake plate m. An axle r mounted on a bridge s and in a plate t secured to the casing is driven by a worm p through a wormwheel g.
