Abstract

548,771. Inductor-alternators. SCOPHONY, Ltd., and JONES, P. L. F. July 17, 1941, No. 9029. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXXVII] A motor is maintained at constant speed by driving an A.C. generator connected to a tuned load circuit, so that upon slight increase of speed the load on the generator increases rapidly. The generator is of the phonic wheel type, the stator poles being energized by a battery 13, and the induced A.C. being applied to a tuned load 16, 17. The tuned load may be an electro-mechanical vibrator. A choke 14 prevents A.C. flowing through the battery or a bridge arrangement, Fig. 3 (not shown) allows the generated A.C. and the exciting D.C. to circulate in separate circuits.
