Abstract
300,240. Morel, E. Nov. 9, 1927, [Convention date]. Magneto-electric machines.-A magneto comprises a rotating magnet composed of an even number of bar magnets such as A, Fig. 1, with adjacent ends of alternate polarity and arranged symmetrically and longitudinally about the axis of rotation so as to co-operate in pairs with an equal number of inducing circuits, such as M, divided into two equal groups disposed at the ends of the magnets. The yokes may be arranged -as in Fig. 1, so as to close the flux path of adjacent pairs of magnets simultaneously at both ends or, as shown in Fig. 5, so as t'o put them all magnetically in series. The groups of yokes at the two ends may be displaced by half the distance between two consecutive magnets so as to double the number of voltage peaks per revolution. Known methods are employed for collecting the induced current. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also the form shown in Fig. 7 (Cancelled), in which the polar masses at each end are connected together in the form of a closed ring having as many poles as there are bar magnets. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
