Special yarns, producing; spindle apparatus. - Yarns, comprising a core around which a fancy thread is bound in loose, broad helical coils by another thread so as to give the appearance of chenille, as shown in Fig. 6, are produced by leading the fancy threads s from bobbins g on a rotary disc d around a stationary cone l whereby the helices so formed have a tendency to slide towards the point of the cone where they are conveyed by a carrier wheel o to the core yarn a, the binding-thread r being fed through a groove in the carrier wheel and the resulting yarn wound up by flyer apparatus n. The bobbin supports f are hinged to the disc d to facilitate the mounting and removal of the bobbins g which are braked by a, shoe i covered with rabbit skin or the like and adapted to swing under spring-control about a rod k which carries the guides u for the fancy yarn. The cone l is preferably slit to facilitate the engagement of the core yarn, and may be in the form of a pyramidal frame.
