[Class 120(ii)] The bobbins of a flyer spinning machine are braked by electromagnetic devices each comprising a permanent magnet in the shape of a disc 1 connected to the bobbin and rotating inside a metal ring 7 provided with pole pieces 8 whereon turns of metal wire 9 are wound each turn forming a closed cir-. cuit. The magnetic disc 1 is connected to the bobbin 2, through pins 10. having heads 3, and to a sleeve 4 rotatable about a spindle 5 fixed to the frame 6 to which the ring 7 is also fixed.
