Indiarubber, preserving.-The ageing properties of rubber are improved by adding latex serum and caustic soda., caustic potash, sodium carbonate or other suitable alkali to the rubber mix before vulcanization. In an example, a mix comprises 100 parts of rubber, 7 parts of sulphur, 6 parts of zinc oxide, 5 parts of serum and 1 part of caustic soda.
