Abstract

Zinc oxide obtained as a bye-product, or prepared from zinc carbonate obtained as a bye-product, in a wet chemical reduction process (e.g. in the production of sodium hydrosulphite) is purified by elutriating and is incorporated in rubber and the like as an activator. Specification 272,860, [Class 1 (iii), Oxides &c. Metallic], is referred to.ALSO:Zinc oxide obtained as a bye-product, or prepared from zinc carbonate obtained as a bye-product, in a wet chemical reduction process (e.g. in the production of sodium hydrosulphite) is purified by elutriating and is incorporated in rubber and the like as an activator.
