Abstract
A viscous composition, capable of being shaped, brushed, or sprayed consists of an aqueous rubber dispersion, ammonia, water-glass, and zinc or lead salts of one or more weak acids, e.g. carbonates or borates. Vulcanizing agents and fillers may also be added. In an example, to 1 litre of latex (60 per cent) is added 200 gms. sulphur, 10 gms. zinc carbonate, 50 ccs. waterglass (1,25 sp. gr.), and 15 ccs. ammonia (25 per cent). It is then dried with simultaneous or subsequent vulcanization.ALSO:A viscous composition, capable of being shaped, brushed, or sprayed, consists of an aqueous rubber dispersion, ammonia, water-glass, and zinc or lead salts of one or more weak acids, e.g. carbonates or borates.
