Abstract

297,638. Hinton, G. B. Feb. 27, 1928. Porous compositions.- Apparatus for making a frothy mass from a mixture of cement, water, and a frothing flotation agent, comprises a tank 1 to receive the mixture, an air inlet 7 at the bottom of the tank, and a device, such as a rapidly rotating perforated disc 2, to break up the air into bubbles of substantially uniform size. The frothing agent is preferably one of the oils or organic acids commonly used in the flotation process. Sand may be added to the cement mixture. In a modification, the disc 2 is replaced by an horizontal cylinder rotating on its axis.
