Abstract

297,277. Hopkinson, A. Feb. 9, 1928. Troughing - rollers for belts.-The return run of an endless belt conveyer is given an inverted trough shape so that it presents a downward sloping surface to any material that falls upon it. The belt is either troughed during manufacture or so made that it tends to assume a troughed shape. The belt is supported centrally by horizontal cylindrical rollers B<1> and at its edges by downwardly sloping cylindrical rollers C<1>, but these latter rollers may be dispensed with.
